Over the weekend I did one of my favorite life rituals. . .spending a few hours looking at magazines at the local bookstore. I love when Summer issues come out, especially the travel magazines. I am focusing on buying a home before the year is out and so I will probably not be able to travel as much as I'd like to this Summer. I want to be able to create my dream sanctuary.
Then I considered the idea of giving my current bedroom a little makeover. Why not add some bohemian flair, the feeling of a zen retreat or hotel in a gorgeous place like Bali? It's like creating a little space that gives you a soothing feeling that a place like that would give you. To relax, rest, recharge, etc.
You could probably just add a few key items to your current space to give you this essence. Sheer fabrics draped around the room, some soft lighting, extra pillows. Perhaps dream catchers and peacock chairs could add a little exotic flair too. All in soft white or neutral colors so as to not over stimulate yourself.
I've been collecting a ton of inspiration on my Decorista Daydreams page. Take a look and get inspired.
A few zen den picks. . .
