If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed and drained of your energy lately, this post will help you by showing you 11 very easy things to declutter that will help you create more calm and energy.
I love this community. The topic this month inside of the House of Bliss Manifestation Mindset Membership is ‘Creating Calm’ so that you can ‘align with abundance’. We are specifically working on new ways of opening your life to more wealth within. You can join us here.
One of the very first and best things you can do to manifest more is to ‘create space’ for it. Letting go of too many things helps to get you in the energy of complete abundance.
I can’t tell you how many times I have manifested something new in the middle of a Spring cleaning, even if said cleaning was actually in the middle of the Fall. Also, when you declutter and upgrade anything in the home, your energy will just feel fresh, clean and ready to embrace a new season.
So, in light of this, I thought I would share a list I curated and have personally experienced that could help you do the same.
11 easy things to declutter that will create more calm and joy in your home and life.
1. Paper clutter.
Tired of the piles of unopened mail piling up on your dining table? Keep reading.
The most problematic thing that tends to pile up is paper. Whether it is stacks of magazines, bills, receipts, unopened mail or catalogs stacks of paper will takeover your home if you aren’t mindful.
Get ahead of your paper piles by weekly paper decluttering. The best way to curb the paper is by creating the proper paper organization in your home office. Here are a few clean and clear ways to make your paper look more chic and organized.
2. Your entryway.
In Eastern traditions, the entryway is the portal for opportunity and negative or positive energy coming into the home. So, your entryway should always be clean and clutter free. I even have an ebook about 25 ways to welcome in money through your entryway.
Use large baskets to corral all of those things that pile up in the entryway like shoes, umbrellas, toys, etc.
3.Old office Supplies. Pens and highlighter, specifically.
As someone who really loves all things stationary and office supplies, I have dozens of pens and highlighters that I use for my home office. But once I went through every single pen and highlighter and cleaned out anything that wasn’t in perfect condition, I felt so much lighter.
Then I ordered myself a set of budget friendly highlighters in really calming colors and a pretty pen pouch to keep them all organized and together.
4.Duplicate kitchen utensils.
My kitchen is one of the places that always makes me happy. Cooking is not really my favorite thing to do, I don’t hate it, I just don’t particularly like it either. So, I like to decorate it with beautiful things so it makes it more enjoyable for me.
But the other day, I decided to go through my utensils and declutter anything old or something that I have have multiples. Then I purchased a beautiful and calming set of monochromatic kitchen untensils that completely upgraded my kitchen. I chose a calming neutral color with wood handles so that it looks pulled together and more cohesive.
5. Half used bathroom products.
If you are anything like me, you’ve got about 7423 bottles of products inside your shower and you actually use them all, so they can be hard to get rid of. One brilliant way to declutter and condense your shower products is to get matching glass bottles like they have at the spa for all of your products.
Sometimes I will have an almost empty product and the new product in my bathroom and it would be so much easier if I had a new bottle to combine the products, this completely helps to eliminate product overflow.
Also, it makes the bathroom shower look more peaceful and serene. I personally love the glass amber bottles or clear bottles so you can actually see how much product is inside. Top if off with a clean and chic label to make it look like a spa or hotel.
6. Mismatched glassware & coffee mugs.
Have you ever opened up your cabinet only to have your cortisol spike from the 32034 coffee mugs piling up? Well, its time to declutter the abundance of random coffee mugs.
Make sure that your mugs and glassware match for a put together look. Choose colors that are soothing and calming or even clear mugs for a very clean effect.
7. Expired food in the fridge.
If you’ve ever opened the fridge and immediately closed it because it overwhelms you yet you feel like you have nothing to cook…well, you’re not alone.
So many people suffer from cooking fatigue and it is mostly due to not having an organized kitchen. It will calm and soothe you so your cortisol doesn’t spike at the thought of making another dinner at home.
It also makes meal prepping so much more fun.
8. Clothes that no longer fit you well.
Getting dressed should be fun and not something that stresses you out. I’ve actually skipped out on events before because I felt like I had nothing to wear.
The solution to this is to edit down your closet. Take a look at your wardrobe and commit to getting rid of clothes that are old, ratted or over worn. Throw out shoes that you don’t intend to wear again or clothes that don’t flatter your body type.
I also like to edit for the season, get all matching hangers and stack up things in baskets to keep things organized looking.

9. Books you no longer read or need.
One of the things that energetically and subconsciously drains you are books that you’ve already read piled up in a closet.
Go through all of your books and edit out the books you have read or books that no longer serve you. Books on getting out of debt, losing weight or help you overcome a problem are subconsciously speaking to you. Feel free to keep books that look gorgeous on your bookshelf. And don’t forget the benefits of color coordinating your books.
Curate your book collection to books that uplift you, warm your heart and motivate you in the direction of your dreams. Here are a few of my current favorites.
10. Worn towels, old sheets or throw blankets.
Just the other day I was going through my linen closet and realized I had some sheets that were old and I thought to myself ‘I’ll just hold on to these incase I need them’.
I immediately stopped myself and thought, “wow. that was lack energy speaking”. I knew in that moment, I had to get rid of those sheets.
Then, I proceeded to clear out my entire linen closet. Old towels, sheets, throws, etc all went into the donation pile. I never felt more clear. and abundant.
11. Anything expired in your lingerie drawer.
Every year, one of my favorite things to reorganize is my lingerie drawer. I go through all of my undergarments and get rid of anything that is ratty or worn looking.
You should always update your lingerie drawer so you feel beautiful underneath your clothes. Then, I like to put organizers in the drawer so that I can find what I am looking for. I also like to spray perfume on them too.
Hope this post was helpful and you enjoy this list of easy decluttering idea.
