If you’re looking to be more organized in your health and wellness, a vitamin planner is your holy grail.
As I sit here, staring into my empty suitcase packing for our family vacation this week, I had to share something that I have found to be an absolute lifesaver, especially short distance weekend traveling with a baby and a whole lot of things.
Here’s the thing, I used to be such a little jet setter but now that I have a little one, home is much more appealing to me these days. However, lately we are loving a good weekend getaway. We’ve been spending our Summers away at the family lake house almost every weekend. It reminds of me of my Summers in New York City when every weekend, we would jet off to the Hamptons. These little weekend jaunts are oh so fun but can’t be seriously exhausting. For some reason, it always takes me like a day or two to feel like I am back in my routine, then we do it all over again. Honestly, I need a break from my weekend mini-vacations.
With all of the back and forth, I was finding myself eating less healthy but more convenient and fueling myself with way too many energy drinks. Because of that, I knew something needed to change. I also noticed that it was the weekends when I would slip on my vitamin intake the mornings.
HOW A VITAMIN PLANNER CHANGED MY LIFE:
So, one weekend I decided to set up my vitamin planner for a weekend trip and it completely changed the game for me. That weekend I felt better, slept better, had way more energy and just came home in a better mood. Especially if you are a busy mom, girl on the go or anyone who is always pressed to find the time to do all the things and live a blissfully balanced life, this is your new bff. Okay, let’s get into it……
I first heard about this jumbo sized vitamin planner from The Skinny Confidential (IMO one of the best blogs out there). I always had a vitamin sorter but this jumbo Pink one really was an upgrade for me because it fits all the large supplements you need to take, like why are Pre-Natals always so large?!
Anyway, this has seriously changed the game for me because I always forget to take ALL of my vitamins every single day, and especially on my weekend getaways. The best part? It fits perfectly into my Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 and I can’t go anywhere without my handbag.
I’m the type that does them all one day, a few the next and maybe none the next if I am traveling or rushing off somewhere early in the AM. It is just very difficult for me to be consistent with my supplements. So, when I am traveling, I have found it to be IMPERATIVE to be extremely on it with my vitamins.
HERE’S WHY YOU NEED ONE TOO:
When I take all of my vitamins while traveling…
it helps to keep my digestion regular, for some reason when I travel, my digestion gets all irregular and having my vitamin intake keeps me feeling normal.
I have more energy in the mornings, I feel better so I am much more likely to get some form of exercise in and I eat better because I am less hungry.
Also, it helps me feel like I am not missing a beat at home because its part of my morning routine that I’m sticking with. That consistency helps to keep the mindset balanced, give you confidence and makes you more effective over time. If that is not enough to convince you to add this vitamin planner to your travel bag, I don’t know what is.
A few vitamins you should consider to add to the rotation:
Hair, Skin & Nails- You always want to be sure the biotin (or vitamin B7) is flowing, it is necessary for the metabolism as well as healthy skin, hair, nails, and cells. I find that my hair grows twice as fast when I am consistent with these vitamins.
Pre-natals - All women in their 30’s should be taking some form of Folic Acid and pre-natals are just the best. Folic Acid supports brain health and cell reproduction, enhances verbal fluency and memory, and is believed to enhance one’s mood. They say you should be taking pre-natals 6 months before you get pregnant so if you want to or are trying, take these religiously. I love a good pre-natal. When I was pregnant, I took a lot of pre-natals, I even tried the gummies but in my opinion, these are the best.
Fiber vitamins. -I truly believe that keeping your digestion regular and gut feeling full helps with overall energy. I like to take 2 in the morning and 1 at night.
Omega 3 Fish oils- I notice that when I keep my oils up, my body pains are less. Like wrists, neck, knees, etc. Things just feel smoother, especially when I up my workouts.
Feminine Probiotic - when I was pregnant, my doctor suggested I take a probiotic with cranberry to keep the “down there” area clean, smelling fresh and healthy. Basically nourishes all the good bacteria in that area. For women, this is such a must.
Rituals - I took these vitamins for a month and really liked them, I specifically liked the pepperminty after taste. Because they really are like a perfect blend of all the things….I have been considering a restock.
P.S. I also never leave the house without Air Pods. As a mom on the go, time is of the essence. You learn quickly that you don’t have one minute to waste, every single minute of your time should be accounted for. I have become extremely efficient, especially when traveling on my weekend getaways. It’s essential when raising a human, keeping a relationship alive and growing a budding business, that you have your life together. If I can be productive by having a conversation, listening to and audiobook or podcast while doing something else, I feel like I have won. It makes me feel like I am making the most of my time, in a good way, you know?
