I can remember the very first time I knew that my dream was to be an interior designer. I was on a trip to Miami with some girlfriends, my very first time. We were staying in the most incredible hotel. I walked around that hotel being so captivated by the design and decor. The walls, the lighting, the art, the furnishings . . . everything just felt dramatic, larger than life. It was so well done it gave me chills. I knew I had always loved interiors, but the way experiencing the gorgeous design of that hotel felt like THIS is what I am meant to do.
From that moment on I've always been extremely fond of traveling to beautiful places, seeing the design + decor of hotels and great restaurants. It's probably one of my greatest passions.
I heard about this new little spot, the Doheny Room in the Delano hotel in South Beach, one of my favorite hotels. It just opened in April so I knew I needed to pop by and see just how chic it was.
This little room was so intoxicating. It almost felt like a fabulous movie set. Dark walls, velvet everywhere, chic furnishings with vintage palm fabrics. It was oozing with decadence and glamour. I especially loved the artwork selections. Incredibly fashionable and edgy photography. It just gives you the South Beach essence.
I was so inspired by this room, I am definitely going to try and give my humble abode some of this velvety glamour. I knew I just had to share this inspiring room with you.
I think my favorite part is the neon sign 'I'm never gonna dance again, the way I danced with you...'. Genius for a sexy little bar like this one. If you hit South Beach this summer and you loved glamorous interiors, you won't want to miss seeing this room. It's so good, but its even better in person. See more pics of the Doheny Room.
