As a little girl, I used to love visiting the homes of my parents friends. Something about seeing the way people live in their home just captivated me. It spoke so much more to me than the actual conversations. What can I say, the art of living was something inherently intoxicating to me.
Thank goodness for the web and access inside anyones home from the comfort of my sofa. Perhaps this is why Instagram is such an addiction. I love when people show us glimpses inside their homes for us to be inspired. Right now, I am all about @rosie.case and her feed. She is mastering the art of layering beige in such an edgy way. AND she's a Jersey girl living in Texas, so you have to love how she has brought the edge down to the South. I know I am a super fan.
Take a look at some of my favorite shots from her feed. Hoping this will inspire those of you who appreciate a more monochromatic beige look yet still want to decorate a little wild and bold.
These wood floors in this dining are amazing. I think the key to this style and getting it right is keeping your color palate strong. When you go out thrifting or antiquing, you want to have a palate of colors to keep your purchase all together. Here anything in beige, natural texture colored like light woods, horn, python, etc. You can also add a metallic like gold to harmonize with the beige. Pops of black always work well too here, just as long as the black items have a natural or gold accent.
What I love her also is the mixing of styles, natural, Parisian, glamorous, bohemian. You can get away with the mix as long as your color palette is strong and cohesive.
I'm curious. . .what is your favorite room in this space? Let me know in the comments below.
