The other day I shared some pictures of my main living area but forgot to share my bedroom updates and I felt like I wanted to share a story with you. I talk a lot about Feng Shui ( or my own adaptation, glam shui ) on the blog and some of you are receptive to it and some of you are a little hesitant about it. Which is absolutely okay, I really believe that what feels good to us is what is meant for us and what doesn't resonate, just isn't meant for your life.
Yes, life can be as simple as listening to your instincts and trusting in your own process about what is right for you.
Anyway, after 4 solid clients who I have worked with, who hired me to design and Feng Shui their home for love + romance, have gotten engaged, I fully believe in the power of implementing Feng Shui. Literally, one of my clients, just put her home on the market because she is moving in with her fiance' and we hadn't even fully finished her space. Honestly, it has blown my mind. It's also made me a FULL ON BELIEVER.
it's as simple as this....."you get what you think about".
For a long time, I used to struggle with this, perhaps because I tend to be a worrier and over thinker. I've read a LOT about the Law of Attraction, watched the Secret, etc. and what I have learned is that part of that is missing...
"you get what you think about".......without doubting it.
As I said earlier, life can be as simple as listening to your instincts and trusting in your own process about what is right for you AND not doubting it. Or second guessing it.
That's really where we mess it all up.
So, to circle back to my story. Yesterday, I woke up with a strong desire to find a piece of art for my bedroom. The wall that sits above my TV is bare and lately its been bothering me. Now here is where Feng Shui comes into play. This particular wall is the Career wall, which interestingly enough, I've been feeling blocked in a couple of projects I am working on, just really missing something. I've just felt off, the past couple of weeks.
As I headed out for the day, and came to my car... I found a flyer on my car for a new vintage shop in town. I've been learning to listen to the small suggestions from the universe so, I took the sign, went to the store in search of a piece of art.
Nothing.
There were probably over 100 of pieces of vintage art I looked through and nothing worked for me. Then, I literally thought to myself, "I am finding something today! I want something vintage, something black (because black is good for the career area), something vertically big enough to fill the space, and something interesting and I want a steal!" So, I googled a couple other vintage stores in the area and decided to hit up 2 more. That's it....2.
...at the second store, and final store, I stumble upon these babies. Super cool, black lacquer chinoiserie panels with cranes on them for $10. Yes. $10. A total steal. The funny part is, they are absolutely perfect for me. I have been obsessed with this furniture lately, see this post & cranes are a symbol of longevity, power, happiness and luck and have been used for centuries in Feng Shui to enhance the career area of the home.
HA! It's kind of funny how perfect they are for me and I am so excited about them.
And that is what good Feng Shui & Blissful Living is all about...surrounding your home with things that make you joyful and happy and inspired. I also saw how "thoughts become things" and the Law of Attraction works if you allow it to, trust your instincts and get out of your own way (i.e. don't doubt)........
Sorry for the long story, but I really felt the desire to share and inspire you. I've been blocked and haven't been inspired to write a long post in a while but these babies gave me all the inspiration I needed.
In other fabulous news, my cat palms are growing so fast in my bedroom. It's feeling like a glamorous Chinoiserie bohemian jungle. I'm loving it.
