Today, I am off to Mexico for the weekend attending a wedding. Probably my most favorite thing about traveling, aside from the photography, is that I get to bring home collectibles from my adventures. I love anything Mexican because its part of my heritage and it just feels good. Since I am moving into a new space I will definitely be keeping my eyes out for fabulous things.
The thing about having collections in your home is having the proper method to display them. One of the most popular display items I have ever seen is the IKEA Vittsjo bookcase. I mean this bookcase is EVERYWHERE. The thing about it is its totally affordable and looks completely clean + oh so chic.
If you haven't noticed these around, I have put together a few of my favorite inspirations. You can stylishly display magazines, books, collections, knick knacks, boxes, photos, baskets, etc. If you have been feeling like your home needs a little something, try creating a beautiful display of your favorite things. Let me inspire you a little bit. . .
For my place, I am thinking the black but I have seen many people put on their DIY gloves and paint it another color. I also happen to think white is very chic, or perhaps even gold.
I absolutely love this hack by House of Hawkes, the gold and marble combo is pretty glam.
After seeing this next shot of Nina Dobrev's California home, I'm actually thinking against the tall shelf look and opting for a lower sofa table look for my new living room. I can get this IKEA Vittsjo shelf, actually 2 of them and place them behind my new sofa and have a fabulous sofa table, no? I was thinking black but perhaps I can make it gold...?
