How to decorate for winter with white

As we are fast approaching the winter, rustic & industrial looking decor is much more prevalent.
I love it when these hard looks are combined with a romantic elegance...effortlessly comfortable.
Like the feeling that you want to cuddle in bed with a fire, lounge in your living room reading a magazine with tea or take a long, luxurious bubble bath whilst gazing at beautiful decor. These are the moments when I truly appreciate being at home.

Home Tour: a stylish + oh so fun bloggers' abode

I love decorating. I love the way people decorate. I love helping those who are in need of decorating advice. This is the reason I blog. Another reason I blog...the home tours.
I love seeing them + I loooooove sharing them with you all too.

This is the stylish home of Bijou & Boheme blog. I love the incredible sense of style. It has a sense of laid back glamour that is very easy to recreate yourself. That is key for decorating.
It's got little notes of parisian chic, some modern glamour and a bit of boho.
Enjoy.
Did I mention how much I adore all of the artwork in the home? Well, I do.
Take a peek at this stunning piece in the entryway...very clever + oh so cheeky!

Design Inspiration... wood is workin it!

There is something about wood that really has me intrigued right now.
Amazing wood flooring is breathtaking... fabulous wood furniture is back...
All wood bookcases in a library...wow! Wood patio walls...even better!
Gorgeous woods lend to the "industrial revolution" look I am so in love with lately.
In California, many older homes have wood throughout which give such a chic 70's vibe...
I would love to work with one, I can only imagine the fun that would be! *dreaming*

a Home Tour worthy of adoration

Feminine interior decor is always a favorite of mine. I love love love the look of a woman's home, it reminds me of my mom. Bright whites and pinks with floral and french accents and a touch of modern. This beautiful space is right up my alley and I wanted to share because I bet it would be right up your alley too. The name of the design firm had me at hello!
The Cross Design...i love it!

bliss in the kitch' ...let them eat cake!

I just have such a crush on this adorable + oh-so-girlie kitchen.
Her name is Caroline and she lives in D.C. and has a penchant for pink accessories.
I find her decor style very relatable and definitely a space worthy of showcasing.

Lovely dishware on display makes this kitchen delightful...so very anthropologie.

More photos from her hometour that I really love...
(girlfriend has some fantastic art, seating and a swoon worthy shoe collection!)

currently inspired by...the sparkle & the shine

The weekend has just flown by and I have been bustling around this city I've barely even noticed. There was soiree after soiree, lots of celebrating the launch of my new website, and friends from Texas in town.
One thing I've noticed is that everywhere in LA, the sparkle and the shine, are out in full force. Glossy chandeliers in restaurants, sparkling dresses on many a angeleno, glimmering nail polish colors and glistening candle light. This perfect LA weekend has me totally inspired!

when gloss and sparkle are paired together...the effect is effortlessly glamorous!

rooms that rock my world! {NYC city girl glamour}

Oh my, the style in this room is such a fashionista meets decorista glam.
I completely fawn over spaces like this.
Chic gold pieces and layered textures marvel in this super stylish abode.
I could imagine living in NYC and after a full day of walking in 5 inch heels,
coming home to soft music, candlelight and this ubiquitous glamour.

The Decorista Trend Spotting...cowhide meets zebra

I have spotted this look a few places now and the jury is still out.
I am really on board with the look of layered rugs, however have yet to try layering animal hide rugs.
In this particular room I think its smashing but I am not completely sold yet.
What do we think of this trend?

and speaking of animal prints...
I have a very big crush on this set of leopard sheets from Ballard Designs,
thanks to miss Katie A.
What am I going to do until I get a set in my hands? They are so light & dreamy.
Oh my, I think I have fallen in love.

secret of domestic bliss #35...decorate with a piece of tufted furniture

When decorating your home, there are certain items that transcend periods and styles,
they just look amazing anywhere.
There really is something very grand about tufted furniture.
I feel like it evokes a sense of history and
at the same time can be very modern... the perfect blend.
At the moment, I cannot get enough of the look of perfectly executed tufted pieces.
I totally suggest keeping your eyes out for one of your own.
Here is how you can make it work....

Mix a velvety yellow sofa with high gloss black asian table for a boho chic look.
Or a deliciously soft tufted headboard paired with a glossy mirrored side table is absolute glamour!
I also love a beautiful tufted headboard layered with romantic ruffles for that Parisian chic look.
Nothing says "coziness" like all white bedding...
well...maybe a gorgeous oversized sectional.
A woman after my own heart.
the zebra art in this living room. killer.
the fact that its paired with chiang mai pillows. genius.

How to decorate like a supermodel...Coco Rocha for Vogue

I have just fallen head over heels for this supermodel's fabulous home.
Her one of a kind finds are so delicious and her creativity is just TMT (too many things).
It's playful, romantic, edgy and parisian chic...glamour permeates the space.
Peek inside her fabulous digs for mega decorista inspiration.

Noteworthy moments: The diagonal mirrors she placed above the sofa...genius!
The Louboutins, military jacket and animal print dress.
Peacock feathers....swoon!
An office space with a gorgeous view? Nothing better than that.
Such personality in this apartment decor, no? Super chic.

The Art of Living: using curtains to make a statement

I am always a sucker for pink. It's the girlie girl in me.
How incomplete would this dining room look without these amazing panels?
Fabulous curtains are essential to the basic elements of a stylish home.
You would be amazed what the right drapes can do for your space.
They cozy-up even the most modern spaces and
just the right amount of flair can give romance to any room.
When done right, they can be multi-tasking too.
